Impressions of the annual meeting 2015
The annual meeting 2015 of the bio-N3MR network NRW was the first symposium of our network taking place at Ruhr Universiy Bochum. Junior scientists of the participating groups presented their current research projects at the symposium in lecture hall HNC10 and during the subsequent poster session. After lunch the participants of the bio-N3MR meeting joined the NMR session of the „European Conference on the Spectroscopy of Biological Molecules" which took place in parallel at Ruhr University. As one of the conference speakers, Prof. Raphael Stoll from Bochum, a founding member of bio-N3MR, presented research highlights of his team.
Dr. Christine Beuck serves as a postdoc at the University Duisburg-Essen. In her talk she discussed the specific role of the amino acids lysine and arginine during the interaction of supramolecular "tweezers" with their target proteins.
The talk of Dr. Vineet Panwalkar, postdoc at Research center Jülich, gave new insights into the complex interrelation of the folding of one domain of the Nedd4-1 protein and the binding of this protein domain to a specific peptide motif.
Thibault Viennet prepares his PhD thesis in the junior research group of Dr. Manuel Etzkorn at Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf. In his talk he presented a new concept aimed at selective excitation of protein resonances in solid state NMR.

Active discussions among the participants took place during the poster session.
