Impressions of the annual meeting 2009

Prof. Dr. Michael Sattler from the HelmholtzZentrum münchen, the German Research Centre for Environmental Health, was the guest speaker of the third annual meeting of the bio-N3MR, which took place in Jülich on November 11th, 2009. Prof. Sattler also holds the chair of Biomolecular NMR Spectroscopy at the Technical University of Munich and is a leading expert in the field of solution NMR spectroscopy of proteins and nucleic acids. The meeting offered a great platform for PhD students and Postdocs of the laboratories organized in the bio-N3MR network to present their own research projects in short talks and scientific posters. Representatives of Sigma-Aldrich gave insight into a broad variety of research tools and products offered by their company for NMR sample preparation.

Dr. Olav Zimmermann of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre introduced the Simulation Laboratory Biology and discussed the benefits of supercomputing for biological research.
