Impressions of the annual meeting 2010

The bio-N3MR network meeting took place for the first time at the University of Düsseldorf on September 29th. Prof. Dr. Bernd Reif of the Technical University Munich and the Helmholtz Research Center Munich was our guest speaker. Prof. Reif is a widely recognized expert in the area of solid state NMR spectroscopy. His research team studies membrane proteins, protein fibrils and large protein complexes and also pursues NMR method development. Early carrier researchers from the groups organized in the bio-N3MR network presented exciting results of their PhD projects in short talks and on posters. A representative of the biotech company Qiagen introduced new tools for production and isotope labeling of membrane proteins. After the lessons there was ample time for personal discussions, networking and to simply relax at the BBQ in the marvelous setting of the Botanical Garden of the University Düsseldorf.
